Enjoy
the benefits of hybrid vigour in one generation...
Lancaster
Black Simmental bulls work brilliantly with Angus herds (and other
breeds too) with great results clearly visible in the paddock and
on the rail. The females are highly fertile, soft, and feminine
with sustainable milk production, moderate frame and longevity.
Black Simmental cattle offer all this and more - imagine what a
bit of black magic can do for you...
Lancaster
Simmental is the stud enterprise of Menalpyn Pty Ltd, and consists
of an expanding purebred and crossbred herd of imported American
Black and Red Simmental genetics. Menalpyn began importing American
genetics in 2002 and formed the Lancaster stud, named for the ancestral
home of the Cartledge family name (Lancaster County, England) in
2004.
These
cattle continually impress us with their calving ease, structure
and carcase performance. Our inaugural sale in March 2006 featured
a strong group of composite bulls that averaged in the top 1% of
the breed for EMA and top 5% of the breed for birthweight and IMF.
Our composite bulls, while maintaining the advantages of calving
ease and carcase quality, give you the benefits of both hybrid
vigour and doing-ability.
Our
second offering of bulls in February 2007 included purebreds for
the first time, in addition to our composite bulls. Our purebred
bulls have the exceptional carcase traits, muscling and growth,
characteristic of the breed, with the added advantages of excellent
calving ease and yield. To the crossbreeder, they are an appealing
option - maximising hybrid vigour
as well as contributing all these traits. Our new sale group, up
for auction on the 22nd February 2008, are set to fulfill and exceed
our expectations, making the New Direction black Simmental an impressive
new breeding option in Australian beef.
All Lancaster bulls are tested and classified as homozygous or heterozygous
for coat colour to help you choose a
bull suited to your aims and program. All sale bulls are performance
recorded by breedplan and genestar tested to give the buyer the
most information possible.
